| I always seem to go back to smoking. Usually when I'm with my friends I light up and am back to the same habit of 1/2 pack a day. I'd like to be able to quit. |

Jess...
I quit smoking about 10 years ago with only one craving and have not had any cravings since.... Let me tell you how...
The only reason to smoke cigarettes comes from a place of self destruction and harm to yourself... You don't truly get relaxed or an altered state, so why do we do it? The altered state is created by a false idea of pleasure, like a baby and a pacifier...
Understand FIRST that it is a choice and that for some reason, you chose that smoking is what is best for you right now... You need to figure out what the real reason you decided was a valid one to smoke and fix it with the truth... Understand this concept, you have told your self for how ever long you have been smoking, that when a certain feeling comes up, you decided that it means "I want a cigarette." Well, when you decide to quit, and you say to your self "I do not Want that anymore" your body has been told "BY YOU" for soo long that yes you do... so this is what you do to track down the real root of your desire... Next time a craving arises do this... Say to yourself, "I already decided that I do NOT want to smoke, so what is the REAL meaning of this feeling?" Ask you self "What am I really feeling! What do I really want because I do NOT want to smoke." I promise you, your craving will stop right then... It will run away This will happen until you actually figure out where the craving is actually coming from, what the root feeling truly is.. Here is a hint... ~Right before you get a craving, you will feel a specific way or have specific thoughts~ Figure out what this/these ( there might be more than one, as it was for me!) is/are and solve it for real, instead of letting your body convince you to smoke.... For me... it was a number of feelings like... Lazyness -If I go have a smoke, then I can take a break, insecurity -The real reason was because I found so many reasons to dislike about myself, smoking just helped manifest these feelings... Good Luck. If you want some extra help, get the book "Feelings Buried Alive Never Die" -Karol K Truman...

There are a lot of problems associated with smoking which people face like problem with respiratory system, heart and many more. Chantix helps you to get over this smoking habit and it works on the body by giving you the same feel good effect and hence reduces the craving for nicotine. Along with having chantix one should have the will power to get over this habit. When you feel carving the most, try having a glass of water. This helped me a lot to get over carving. Best luck to all those who want to get over this habit. _________________ Chantix is FDA approved drug. |

Remember, Addiction to cigarettes has been told that it is stronger than heroin. So do not be too hard on yourself for the struggle. It has also been said, and I agree completely, that all addiction is a psychological one. People become addicted to emotions and various other states of mind that have nothing to do with a substance. The Movie "What the Bleep do We know" goes in to this a bit, the extended version has much more info and scientific data relating to our choices and how we become addicted to them.
Smoking is a horrible, nasty way of self destruction. I know, I used to smoke for years. You know you want to quit, and yet your body is telling you no, I want it. Who is in charge, you or your body? and Why does your body 'think" or "feel' that it wants another cigarette. Perhaps your body is trying to communicate something with you that you have told it for so long, "That means I want a cigarette" now you must get to the original reason and learn to communicate better, and stop accepting the lie that you do want another cigarette. Unless you truly do want to smoke, and that is a hole other discussion of the desire for self destruction!!
Remember, we quit only once, and we stop many times. even for months. _________________ Have a wonderful day. Its your choice!

Smoking lowers your odds of getting pregnant in the first place. So quiting will improve your chances.
Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, meaning it constricts your blood vessels — including the ones to the placenta and the baby. Smoking and secondhand smoke increase the risk for miscarriage, birth defects, and other complications of pregnancy.
You are breastfeeding but smoking? Seems like you must care about the health of your baby given that you are breastfeeding. Seems odd you don't want to quit. Do you know the dangers you are exposing your baby too? I understand having problems quiting but I can't understand not wanting to quit. Can you explain why then perhaps we can assist you? |
